One of the projects I started this summer was creating an urban driveway garden. I have always enjoyed gardening and decided on a small project of putting bamboo and trees in large square tree planters. The project has taken a life of its own. I first repotted a Japanese maple into the planter surrounding it with mini roses and mini dahlias. What I found in creating this urban driveway garden was the meditation aspect of gardening. It's my quiet time where I can think about my day and just reset and let the anxiety of the day fall away. This box was easy to do. I first started by adding wheels on the bottom so I can move the planter to different spots in the driveway. I then filled the planter with raised bed potting soil and grape seed compost. I like to mix grape seed compost and raised bed potting soil to ensure the plants get the nutrients they need. Once I add the plants I loosely pack the soil on top also adding fir bark mulch to keep the moisture in. This was a fun project to do and took less than an hour to complete.

Materials Needed:
1. Tree planter - I got mine at my neighborhood nursery.
2. 4 wheels - Any hardware store carries them. You want the ones that turn.
4. 1 bag grape seed compost - specialty garden store (American Soil)
8. 1 bag of small fir bark - specialty garden store (American Soil)
